LITERATURE REVIEW AND GAP FOR PHD RESEARCH
- Dealing with the enormous amount of information
- Lack of access to valuable sources
- Identifying specific arguments in the existing research
- Organising the gathered information in an apt manner
- Inability to challenge the existing knowledge base
- Failing to keep track of sources referred
WHY CONDUCT A LITERATURE REVIEW?
IDENTIFIES KEY ISSUES
By reviewing the literature, you can identify the key areas that are unexplored or require further research.
DETERMINES METHODOLOGIES
By critically reviewing the existing literature, you can figure out the methodologies used in the previous research.
EVALUATES STATE OF TOPIC
It helps you determine what is already known about the chosen topic and how extensively the research was conducted.
GENERATES ORIGINAL IDEAS
Another major benefit of reviewing literature is that it generates new ideas or lays a foundation for new theories.

OUR WORKFLOW FOR LITERATURE REVIEW WRITING FOR PHD RESEARCH
Identify the narrow area
After identifying your area of interest, we perform exploratory research to figure out a particular argument or issue in your field of study. We also determine the relationship between the previous & present issues.
Collect articles
In the next step, we collect relevant articles from databases, journals or published books (e.g., Web of Science, SCOPUS, etc.). On collecting articles, we pay attention to important sections to determine the areas that lack investigation.
Choose a research gap
We map out the literature and determine if the questions have been answered previously. We then choose a research question that was left unanswered or does not include any answer (research gap).
Validate research gap
We test the identified research gap or question and ensure it has the potential to deliver the expected outcome. In an unfortunate case, if the gap is unable to deliver the expected result, we revise the entire process.
